RCBC AND SUPER 8 STORES TIE-UP FOR MYWALLET CARD
Customers who frequently shop at Super 8 Grocery Warehouse chain can soon take advantage of a new prepaid card payment product co-branded with RCBC MyWallet, the popular cash card brand of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC).
The new RCBC MyWallet-Super 8 Visa prepaid card will soon be introduced to the market following the recent signing of the memorandum of agreement between RCBC and Super 8 Retail Systems, Inc., the warehouse chain's retail management company.
Ismael R. Sandig, RCBC Executive Vice President and head of Retail Banking Group, considers the partnership a milestone that will enhance the value that both partner firms give to their clients.
"Super 8 Grocery Warehouse has a loyal customer base that will greatly benefit from the superior value that we offer in our new card payment product," he said. "The company's extensive area coverage will also allow more Filipinos to become familiar with our RCBC MyWallet brand."
In addition, all Super 8 branches will also be deployed with RCBC ATM's to provide more convenience and increase accessibility of services to shoppers. Super 8 has 26 stores encompassing greater northern, central and southern Metro Manila. It is one of the country’s leading grocery warehouse chains known for its affordability, various promotional programs that generate additional savings, and a wide assortment of quality products at wholesale prices.
Super 8 Retail Systems' CEO Alvin A. Lim also looks forward to seeing their shoppers benefit from the new card. "We are proud to have partnered with an institution that offers excellent card payment infrastructure like RCBC," he said. "This will surely boost our clients’ shopping experience and convenience."
The RCBC MyWallet-Super 8 Visa prepaid card is designed to supplant Super 8's loyalty card program dubbed as the Negocho Card. There are currently more than 200,000 active Negocho cardholders whose existing transaction data, including accumulated rewards points, will eventually be migrated to the RCBC MyWallet-Super 8 Visa prepaid card.
On top of storing the same rewards points per usage, the new card offers greater flexibility since it can be used to perform cashless shopping and even online purchases. As a safe and secure way of carrying one's cash, the MyWallet Card also has no maintaining balance required.
The MyWallet-Super 8 Visa prepaid card can even be used abroad for withdrawals or purchases, either online or through point-of-sale merchants, wherever the Visa logo is recognized and accepted.
