A Family trip to New Zealand
Architect Karen Dawn Te, 37, won a trip for two to New Zealand in April, and soon after, she and her husband Joel used their prize of free airfare and five days and four nights accommodation. Together with their son Lyon and Karen’s mother Ramona, they flew to New Zealand last July 26, and returned home on August 6 after opting to extend their trip. Karen and her family visited Auckland and Rotorua which she said were “quiet, peaceful places.”
“It was quite a change from the craziness of Manila and our other urban centers,” she said.
My winning the SAVEcation raffle was a real blessing for us. RCBC Davao where I had my account notified me about it just three days after I suffered a car accident. It was actually just a minor incident as I only had to get my car fixed afterwards – but the experience was stressful for me all the same. After I found out that I had won a trip for two to New Zealand, I felt immensely better and made me forget how upset I was about the accident,” she said.
Karen said that the entire process of claiming her prize, the flight to New Zealand, and the short vacation itself went smoothly. “There were no hitches. RCBC handled everything perfectly, assisting us all the way,” she said.
Lucky Grandparents win trip to Japan
Other SAVEcation winners such as Mrs. Aida Antonio Lopez and her husband are still waiting for the perfect time to book their flights.
"It came as a real surprise, but it was a happy one to be sure,” said Mrs. Lopez who won a trip for two to Japan. At 86 years old, Mrs. Lopez is no novice when it comes to traveling abroad. She and her family – her husband and five daughters --- make frequent trips overseas both for business and for personal reasons.
"My husband and I have gone to Japan many times, and each visit is always memorable. We hope to go either this October or in April next year, depending on how strong both of us feel. We are already senior citizens, you know,” she said laughing.
Mrs. Lopez said that it was actually one of her friends who first told her that she had won the SAVEcation raffle. “She had read my name in an announcement about the raffle somewhere, I think. So the next time I went to the bank, I asked the tellers about it. They were so happy for me, and an official eventually confirmed that I did win. It was a little funny, actually, because at first I thought it was a joke. They have already explained what the prize includes, and my husband and I will get free airfare and spend four days and three nights in Japan,” she said.
As a long time client of the bank, Mrs. Lopez only has good things to say about RCBC and its branch in Pasong Tamo, Makati for always extending a helping hand.
“The employees there are always very nice to me, very accommodating. I never experience stress when I go to the bank to make a deposit because RCBC knows how to take care of its clients who are senior citizens. They take care of my accounts for me and I just sit in a comfortable chair and wait for the checks I deposit to clear,” she said.
