MANILA, Philippines – RCBC Capital Corporation (RCAP) bagged two awards in the recently-held Asian Banking & Finance (ABF) Corporate and Investment Banking awards, where banks with outstanding corporate & investment banking deals and achievements are recognized.
Cited as the Syndicated Loan of the Year was the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEx) Project. The CCLEx, which received PhP19 billion in financing from RCBC, the largest Lender, with RCBC Trust and Investments Group (RCBC Trust) as Facility Agent and Security Trustee, is seen to ease traffic congestion in the existing bridge connections of Marcelo Fernan Bridge and the Mandaue Bridge.
Meanwhile, the Merger and Acquisitions Deal of the Year was recognized for RCAP’s role as financial advisor to iPeople Inc. (IPO) in connection with the merger transaction between AC Education, Inc. (AC Education) and IPO, with IPO as the surviving entity (Merger). The project will bring together the 7 educational institutions of IPO and AC Education, offering quality education to students across all income segments, with campuses in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, and Mindanao.
“These achievements only serve to strengthen our resolve to play a more active role in nation building and to be a more active catalyst in the growth of the country’s economy,” RCAP President Jose Luis Gomez said.
Early this year, RCAP brought home 3 awards for the bank’s important role in some of the country’s transactions in spaces such as infrastructure and renewable energy, CCLEx being one of them.
