What are the valid IDs needed to open a Digital Savings Account?

To open an account, you can use any of the following:

Philippine Identification ID (PhilID)
Unified Multi-purpose ID (UMID)
Philippine Driver’s License
Passport
Postal ID (issued 2016 onwards)
Philippine Social Security System (SSS) Card
Professional Regulation Commission Card

Frequently Asked Questions: Digital Savings Account

A Digital Savings Account is a savings account that can be opened through RCBC’s online and mobile banking channels (RCBC Pulz) for new-to-bank, individual clients. This cannot be opened via RCBC Branches.

This account can be opened by new-to-bank, individual clients only (18 years old and above). This means that the client has no existing customer record with RCBC.

If you already have existing accounts or if you have availed of products with RCBC, then you cannot open a Digital Savings Account.

To open an account, you can use any of the following:

a. Philippine Identification ID (PhilID);

b. Unified Multi-purpose ID (UMID);

c. Philippine Driver’s License;

d. Passport;

e. Postal ID (issued 2016 onwards);

f. Philippine Social Security System (SSS) Card;

g. Professional Regulation Commission Card.

Additionally, you will be required to take a selfie as part of the account opening requirements.

None. However, you must be able to fund your account with at least Php 100 to prevent it from auto-closing within 180 days from account opening date.

Yes. The required daily balance to earn interest is at Php 5,000 at an interest rate of 0.150%. Your interest will be credited to your account on a quarterly basis.

Yes. During account opening, you can select an RCBC MyDebit Card as an add-on feature. You can pick this up from any RCBC Branch.

The RCBC MyDebit Card can be used for cashless and online shopping and for transacting with any RCBC, Bancnet, and Mastercard ATMs and POS terminals in the Philippines and overseas.

You can open an account via the Bank’s mobile and online banking channels (RCBC Pulz) for individual clients. Simply download the RCBC Pulz using your mobile phone or access RCBC’s personal banking website. You will be required to supply your information, capture a valid ID, and take a selfie as part of the account opening requirements.

The Bank endeavors to provide a disposition within the next banking day from the date of account opening.

If all the information, valid ID, and selfie provided are complete and found to be in order based on the Bank’s account opening policies, your account will be opened within the day.

Once your account is fully verified, you may proceed to any RCBC Branch to pick-up your RCBC MyDebit Card (if you chose this as an add-on). While at the RCBC Branch, you may now request to lift the over-the-counter (OTC) restriction if you wish to facilitate OTC withdrawals from your account.

However, please note that other supporting information may be needed from you. You will receive an email and/ or an SMS notification. Please provide all the information needed for the Bank to immediately process your application.

If your account is not yet fully verified, it will have a Php 50,000 credit limit. Your transactions will be limited to fund transfer, bills payment, and buy load.
