RCBC bags BMAP’s sustainability drive award
The Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) was named winner of the Best Sustainability Drive category at the 6th Bank Marketing Awards Ceremony.
The award recognized the bank’s strengthened push to embed sustainability across its organization and in its client partnerships. Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines (BMAP) is the premier association of bank marketing professionals in the country, known for its rigorous annual awards program that highlights the most innovative, strategic, and high-impact marketing and communication initiatives in the country’s banking system.
This award from the BMAP gratifyingly caps off the sustainability recognitions for RCBC in 2025. Earlier during the year, RCBC was honored with the Platinum Award at The Asset Corporate Sustainability Leadership Awards 2025 and recognized as Circle of Excellence Awardee for Sustainability Company of the Year at the Asia CEO 2025 Awards. According to RCBC Chief Sustainability Officer Armi Lamberte, “The recognition affirms that sustainability is not just a program for us, it is a culture we continue to build.”
One of RCBC’s flagship internal initiatives is the Sustainability Matters awareness campaign, an electronically-circulated newsletter with infographics personifying the planet Earth, aimed at providing guidance to employees while promoting solidarity in learning sustainability. Since March this year, the campaign has maintained visibility on a monthly basis, espousing uniqueness in content to strengthen employee awareness of sustainable finance developments within the industry.
Complementing its internal programs, the bank expanded its sustainability advocacy through client partnerships. A key initiative is its five-year collaboration with the Haribon Foundation which is widely recognized for its work in protecting the habitat of the endangered Philippine Eagle and restoring vital forest ecosystems. Through fundraising activities among RCBC Hexagon Club members, the partnership enables clients to contribute directly to biodiversity conservation and the community-based environmental programs of Haribon.
Currently the 5th largest privately-owned bank in the country, RCBC remains to be at the forefront of Sustainability. Recognized as Best Bank for Sustainable Development Philippines at the 2024 Global Banking and Finance Awards, recipient of “3G Eco-friendly Financial Services Award 2024”, to name a few, the bank reaffirms its commitment to purpose-driven banking, creating long term value for its clients, its communities and the environment.
